Great sushi. Clean, friendly, great service.

Had a great meal and an overall great experience last night at the hibachi. Our chef manged to keep the attention of a 5 year old birthday girl and a 2 year old ! Truly pleasant experience, will go back again.

Food is delicious and no MSG!! Staff is always courteous and attentive. The sushi bar is always fresh and the seasonings are never overpowering. The chief's specials are never drowning in sauce which I hate. Lots of other places do... ugh! When taking out guests, Toros is one of my favorites!!!!

Food is always good. The Japanese or Chinese or Asian fusion choices are fine and wouldn't hesitate to come back again and again. For me the only negative is the non existent interaction with customers, from asking how your meal is to as little as a smile and thanking you when you are leaving. It would be nice if who might be managers and or owners would get up from their bar stool at the bar and part from conversation with their favorite customers and say....thank you.....have a pleasant evening!!

Such good food. Did carryout for lunch & we all had more than we cd eat. Looking forward to our leftovers!

People are rude on the phone. Also will not delever past 5 miles. Very sad. Used to spend a lot of money there.

Always excellent sushi, good service, and great atmosphere.

Food was good - however our server had an attitude the entire time we were there. She cleared plates from dinner and brought the check without asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. When we asked for a dessert menu she said ok with an attitude like she just wanted to get rid of us. Will not return back.

The best sushi in the Trumbull/Monroe/Newtown area. Steps above the others. Super clean restaurant, friendly waitstaff. They have a big menu, but I'd stick to the sushi (and the spring rolls).

last night was our first time in this restaurant. But It is surely not the last time. We had a good time with the attentive service, with the superb food and wine and with the modest cost. We will absolutely return there in a short time.

I celebrated my graduation today in this fine place. Well we had a fabulous evening and the restaurant was undoubtedly the reason for this successful celebration. The stuff cooperated in a sweet manner, the meals were extremely good and my guests were very delighted. We shall surely come back again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

Drink is over priced and under poured. Vegetable dumplings only had cabbage in them and barely that! The tofu was mushy/runny and took home left over sushi but they failed to pack any wasabi or ginger and it was still on the plate. Totally not impressed 😞

One of my favorite Asian restaurants! Everything on the menu is excellent, fresh, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. The interior excels in form and function; soft lighting from Japanese lanterns along with decor that doubles as sound dampening makes for a quiet and pleasing meal. Portions are generous enough I usually end up bringing some home.

Very often, owner is nasty and terse on phone when calling in orders.She needs a serious reality check. During this period of unfortunate anti-Chinese sentiment....I find it especially amazing that somebody would not be unbelievably grateful to be supported by our town. Especially when so many others in the restaurant business are hurting so badly.

Great quality food and service

Always good food. Sometimes crowded but a short wait at most. Dumplings are excellent. Ask for white meat for chicken dishes.

Stopped in for a late lunch after an appointment in Newtown. Really pretty restaurant with a cozy feel. Friendly greeting and friendly attentive service. I had the steamed vegetarian dumplings. So refreshing... they actually make their own dumpling wrappers! Ordered the green jade for my entree... snow peas, beans, broccoli. Very good. Will definitely return with friends.

Really like this place; some of the freshest and most creative sushi in Fairfield County.

Lady had a Bad attitude when she answered the phone. Very impatient and unprofessional.

I love this place so much. The sushi is terrific and the hibachi fun.

Honestly this has been my go to for Asian Fusion, and the hibachi was decent. Though the last few times it has been consistently worse. Maybe management can get their act together.

I arrive at this special restaurant once a month because I love the special atmosphere that is exist in this place. The personel is extremely friendly and well trained. The service is pretty rapid. Not to mention, the food they prepare is first-rate. I visited more than once and I was always joyful. The expense is reasobable. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends.

As an avid sushi eater, this is hands down the most consistent and high quality sushi restaurant in CT. I've been to all high ranking ones. Toro has great fish quality for their standard seafood; such as salmon, tuna, yellow tail.One time I had a piece of Toro (fatty tuna) which I can tell had been frozen. This doesn't surprise me, since the places I've been with good Toro are not on the east coast. Other then the suboptimal specialty fish, the sushi dishes are good. In my opinion the Chinese food here is not the best, their Thai food is decent, and I have not had their Hibachi: they have a seperate part of the restaurant for it. I'm giving them 5 stars for their sushi, and that alone. I'd recommend going here, the people are super nice and very tolerant of allergies.

One of the best Asian restaurants in the area! Everything is done well here from the sushi, regular menu, to hibachi. You won't be disappointed. Great atmosphere, it feels upscale and contemporary but you can go casually dressed. Prices are reasonable as well.

Toro is a great dining experience if you decide on Japanese/Chinese cuisine in smaller sittings. Want a great group experience. Excellent Hibachi table style dining upstairs. Fun as an intimate date or with kids/friends.

The pork with garlic sauce is awesome!

The best hibachi I have ever had. The waiters were friendly and efficient and paid attention to small details. The chef was engaging and cooked the filet perfectly. Typically, I’m not a big fan of hibachi style dining but these tables were spacious and I didn’t feel like I was intruding on other people’s meals while still partaking in a community dining event. The ordering process was simple and the food was incredible. We will be back (we decided no other hibachi will live up to this one).

I went because of the reviews but the food was subpar. Something was off about the sushi and the lo mein noodles were very soggy and salty. I was also charged for a coffee that I ordered but was never served.

That's the worst chinese place I have ever eaten from, first they messed up my order and then the food was just a disappointment.

Toro is a very well run restaurant. The main floor is all restaurant style seating with a sushi bar and upstairs is hibachi. The decor is well done. The fish is very fresh and service is excellent. They have a eightish seat bar, but this is not a bar scene . Mostly people waiting for take out or having a solo dinner.

This restaurant is no doubt one of the most attractive place in the region. Whenever I visit this place I am profoundly satisfied. They keep their very high standard service and the topmost level of meals they provide. You can never go wrong with this place. Very recommended.

Love this place. Formal dining on the main level and Hibachi on the second. Hardly can tell there is a second floor. Upstairs is a side room as well for small parties. Service and food are great. Family favorite of Asian hands down.

Food was excellent as always but was only family in at time and they were taking forever to send out the chef and he gave small portions the seafood was not great I liked the steak and sauce Noddles great but so small portions they downsized our meal . Disappointed cause we like the place it's cool atmosphere and did get packed on our rushed out .

Th hibachi seasoning is pretty good, could say one of the best ones I had tried. The only reason I selected 4 is because they offer water once and never again and also they forgot to offer sauces. I think was only because end of the year is a busy day but still water...

Would surely recommend trying out this place. Excellent mood, delicious food, excellent service. Highly recommended.

Efficient take out setup, and great food

I had the pork ramen & gyoza and it was good. The decor was nice. Place is dimly lit (was there late dinner). Bar looked sweet, water fall wall. Waitress were attentive. Good variety of Asian cuisine. I would recommend.

The best Asian food in the immediate area. You get what you pay for. And this is no exception. They're pricey, which is why they only get four stars from me... But you get the best Asian food in the area!

I had high hopes for this place but was disappointed. The sushi rice itself had too much vinegar. It made my rolls taste vinegaro and very mushy and sticky. They reminded me of texture of sushi that's been sitting out too long. Rolls were also very sloppy and cut very uneven. Very expensive considering what you get too. Duck egg roll was great but it was $8 for a very small roll.
